Baylee Robichaux
Baylee Robichaux is an emerging multidisciplinary artist and Art History major at Texas Womanโs University, where she is currently pursuing her degree with plans to graduate in 2027. Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, Baylee relocated to Denton, Texas with her family in 2009 and has continued to grow both academically and artistically within the community.
Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder shortly before the age of five, Bayleeโs journey has been marked by perseverance, creativity, and determination. Her dedication and excellence earned her the Communities In Schools Student of the Year award in 2016, and she later completed her final year at Strickland Middle School with a 4.0 GPA.
Entirely self-taught, Baylee began creating art in the first grade, initially sketching womenโs faces before developing a distinctive artistic style of her own. Today, her work spans detailed illustrations, hand-sewn creations, and imaginative dolls crafted from wire, recycled fabrics, and found materials.
Her artistic aesthetic often blends Victorian and Gothic influences, creating pieces that balance elegance, whimsy, and mystery. Through thoughtful color palettes and expressive design, Baylee transforms everyday materials into captivating works that reflect both imagination and individuality.
Following graduation, Baylee plans to pursue a career in curation within the fashion and textile museum field while also launching her own line of dolls and figures. As both an artist and aspiring entrepreneur, she continues to establish herself as a visionary creative voice with a promising future ahead.
We are honored to feature Baylee Robichaux as part of the Denton Juneteenth Poetry Slam & Art Exhibition as we celebrate culture, creativity, and community expression.
