It’s Time

Dr. King once said that “The time is always right to do what is right.” Over the past couple of weeks the news has been filled with tragic news surrounding our youth. So I believe it is imperative that we remember each of us has a responsibility. In Mary McLeod Bethune’s Lat Will and Testament, she said she leaves us a responsibility to our youth.  So, let’s do our part in protecting, training and preparing the next generation to take our places.

There was a period of time where our society thought certain issues were that particular group’s problem. But as Dr. King said, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” We can make a difference! Let’s raise our voices against inequities. Let’s stand up for what is right regardless of who is on the side of right. Finally, let’s listen to the voices that are crying for help and stand in the gap. I have committed to making positive change. Michael Jackson’s song lyrics stated, “I’m starting with the man in the mirror,” won’t you join me? In conclusion, Dr. King, said “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” Let the positive change begin today.
